Generation of Mobile Telephony :1G,2G,3G,4G,5G...

In today's World of Communication,Mobile phones is very usable in Modern Lifestyle.Smartphone creates awesome technological advancement in the human's technical life.We can perform every technical works from my smartphones from calling to sending/recieving Money.
Today we will talk about the various generations of Mobile telephony,so lets start:
"G" is defined as generations which is the spectrum of new technological development in the Mobile telephony."G" has more to do with the infrastructure and less to do with the data rates.

Facts and Technology Used:

1G:This signifies first generations wireless analog Technology standards which is started in 1980.
  • The Radio signals used by 1G is analog.
  • This is Analog Technology communications.
  • In 1G narrow band analogue wireless network is used, which is only used for voice calls and text messages.
  • These Services are provided with the switching of the circuits.

2G:This is the Second Generation systems that are digitally encrypted and this systems uses either TMDA(Time Division Multiple Access) or CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) methods.
  • This System is more efficient on the spectrum allowing for far greater Mobile Phone Penetration Levels.2G introduces Data Services, SMS(Short Message Services),picture messages and MMS(Multimedia Message Services).
  • The 2G digital Systems began appearing in late 1980s,providing expanded capacity and unique services such as Caller ID,Call Forwarding and Short Messaging.
  • All message sent over 2G is digitally encrypted which allows transmission of data in such a way that only intended reciever can recieve and read that repective messages.Roaming is also a new features.
3G:The first 3G networks were introduced in 1998.This Technology provides an imformation transfer rate of atleast 200kbit/s initially, but it targeted to 2Mbits/s.
  • 3G technology gives clarity of voices free from any interferences/disturbances.
  • 3G would enables many new services such as Global Roaming
  • It enables wide Voice channel which help a little village person to contact another persons located in any part of the Globe and even can send Messages.
  • Entertainment such as Fast communications,internet,Mobile TV,video conferencing,Video calls,MMS,3D gaming,Multi gaming are easily Accessible.
  • It evolved HSPA(High Speed Packet Access)
4G:This Technology offers True High Speed data Services.4G data rates will be in the 2Mbit/s to 156Mbit/s Range, and possibly higher. It fully supports IP.
  • High data rates are due to advances in Signal Processors, new modulation techniques, and smart antennas that can focus signals directly at the Users.
  • OFDM(Orthogonal frequency division Multiplexing) is a scheme that can provides high wireless data rates.
  • enables Cloud Computing,3D Television,High Defination Mobile TV,IP Telephony etc.
  • Fast Surfing and Downloading Speeds than that of previous generations.
  • This enable VoLTE services.
  • enables LTE(Long Term Evolution),a 4G Mobile communication standard for high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones and data terminals.
5G:It is 5th generation wireless system used by reasearchers to denote the next phase of mobile telecommunications standards beyond the present 4G/IMT advanced standards. Also termed as 2020 Technology.NGMN(Next Generations Mobile Network) Alliances defines 5G requirement as follows:
  • Spectral efficiency should be significantly enhanced compared to 4G/LTE.
  • Data Coverage should be improved.
  • Signal efficiency enhanced.
  • Very Much Faster Speed than ever.
